Active Directory (AD) FAQ



1. Which password am I supposed to use?

• The same password that you used to log into CaMSys.

2. Why do I need to change my password?

• Mitigation control over the potential risks on breaches of privacy,
  security, and incompliance to the MMU IT security policy

3. When to change my password?

• You can change it once a day (24 hrs cycle) but it is
  prerequisite to change it every 90 days


4. Where to change my password?

• At any MMU PCs ( For Staff )
• At any Faculty lab , NTU Lab , general usage PC
  eg: Library , Student Service Centre.
• Submit ticket via MMU Service Desk (Kindly choose ITSD) at
  https://icems.mmu.edu.my/sdesk/index.jsp

5. How to change my password?

• Go to the PC (as mention above)
• Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete
• Enter your User Id (Student Id / Staff MU Id) and current Password
  (If the password is expired , it will prompt to change the
  password immediately)

• Once log in, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete
• Click 'Change A Password'
• Enter your current and new password
• Click 'Enter' when you have confirm your new password

6. How to select my password?

• Must be a min of 10 characters in length
• Cannot be the same as the previous passwords (5 cycles)
• Must contain at least one uppercase character (A through Z)
• Must contain at least one lowercase character (a through z)
• Must contain at least one number (0 through 9)
• Must contain at least one non-alphanumeric character
  (for example: !, $, #, %)
• You are not allowed to use any part of your personal information etc
  name , IC number , MMU

7. What to do if my account / username is locked?

• Please wait at least 15 minutes before attempting to log in again

8. What to do if nothing works out?

• You may lodge ticket via MMU Service Desk (Kindly choose ITSD) at
  https://icems.mmu.edu.my/sdesk/index.jsp
